So cinema lens are labeled with T-stops which takes in consideration the transmission of light through the lens. However when you try to find the DOF you have to use f-stops because DOF calculations don’t take in consideration transmission of light through the lens. So if a cinema lens has poor transmission (unlikely) your near and far focus measurement could be off.
